Stained Glass 6 Week Course
Mearns Art House 6 Week Stained Glass Class
£200.00 pp
During this 6 week course, you will develop an understanding of the process and techniques required to create your own unique stained glass panel.
This class will only have maximum of 4
participants per session. 15/16 year olds are very welcome, but must be
accompanied by an adult taking part in the workshop.
WEEK 1. Cutting and grinding techniques using practise glass. Planning your design (bearing in mind that simple is best for beginners. Decide on the metod copper foil or lead came. Choose glass for your project.
WEEK 2: Start work on your project. Finalise your design and begin cutting and shaping the glass pieces.
WEEKS 3, 4 & 5: Continue work on your design. Cutting and grinding the pieces to fit, applying copper foil or lead. Soldering the pieces together.
WEEK 6: Finishing your work. Cementing, applying patina, cleaning and polishing.
